Welcome to Glassworks Northwest: Home of Minzabella Murrini!
Handcrafted Glass from the Pacific Northwest!
Hi, I’m Kristi! My life in glass began in 2006. For fifteen years, I focused on creating finished glass art for galleries and professional art shows. However, I always had a deep fascination with the complexity of murrini.
Before I ever pulled my first glass cane, I spent years mastering the art of polymer clay caning. This medium allowed me to study the architecture of complex designs, learning exactly how to build and layer patterns that remain crisp and beautiful when reduced. In 2021, I brought that lifelong study and my nearly 20 years of glass experience together to launch my studio line: Minzabella Murrini.
Dual-COE Expertise: Bullseye & Oceanside
I understand that every artist has their preferred glass. To support the entire "warm glass" community, I am proud to offer my handmade murrini and "Kristi’s Twisties" in both:
COE 90: Premium Bullseye Glass
COE 96: Premium Oceanside Glass (Spectrum/Uroboros compatible)
I maintain a meticulous studio environment in Bellingham, Washington, to ensure that these two glass types are never mixed. When you buy from Glassworks Northwest, you can trust that you are getting technically sound, compatible glass backed by decades of experience.
The Story of "Minzabella"
The name Minzabella is a tribute to my two studio companions: my cats, Minzer (short for Minnie Meow) and Meow Bella.
"Minza" means star in Arabic.
"Bella" means beautiful in Italian.
Together, they inspired the name for my glass: Beautiful Stars.
